Thumping bengs

Now that Zouk's closed for renovations...where's everybody? Well, last night D asked me to go to Thumper for his friend's birthday celebrations.... apparently 2 groups of people were celebrating their birthdays... We got our drinks, stood around people watching... got shoved here and there and i was getting bored by the second... the music sucked (commercial music dished out by the resident band... come on! if you are a band, you dont play Black Eyed Peas and Shakira...)

Ok, so we finally found D's friends and managed to plonk ourselves onto the cushioned seats...surrounding us, everyone one else was standing... and we have these guys dancing rigourously to RnB songs... (ah beng, get the beat right!!) The birthday girl was happily opening bottles of liquor like nobody's business and everyone was helping themselves.... (i really wonder if these people are there for the free booze or they're genuine friends) Countless waterfalls were served in front of me... it got to a point where the heat, the terrible choice of music, the not-so-pleasant-to-look-at people were too much for me to take....

As i was about to decide to leave, D saw the other birthday girl, who invited us to join her at the VIP area... my my my...what a world of difference it was from the main hall... firstly, it was much quieter ...somehow that room is able to filter all that noise coming from the main hall... secondly, i think i was only the 3rd chinese in the whole room ..( there were about 40 people). The whole freaking room was filled with models, coming from The Philippines, Florida, Brazil, Iran and God knows where...United Nations man.... and then this dude, whom i was introduced to, comes up to me and says he lost his watch...a tag. So D and I stood up...looked under the table n cushions...no luck... This dude then told me this is not the 1st time hes lost a watch in a club.... said hes lost 2 in liquid room... come on man!! how da hell do you lost a watch?!? its on your friggin wrist the whole time... theres no way you can lost it unless the catch came off and it slipped off your hand.... but im sure you can feel it slipping off your hand right?! He's one weird muthafucka.
