old foggie

We have always been taught/encouraged since young to show respect to the elderly , to give up seats to them on buses and trains, to help them with the stairs, help them in whatever way we could to show that this is a caring society... However, I encountered something today.....

Was at the library today, found some self-help books and plonked myself onto a seat next to this young lady reading the New Paper. You know how libraries are, quiet and cold.... then suddenly this woman who seem to be in her early 60s went up to the young lady and this was what followed ...

Old woman : " Are you done with the New Paper? You seem to be taking forever!"
Young Lady : "I'll be done in 5 mins time."
OW : "thats what you said just now!! nobody takes that long to read the New Paper!"
YL : "Auntie, I started bout 10 mins ago only... and you were bugging me 5 mins into my reading.."
OW : "Nobody takes that long to read it! STUPID!"

I was fuming inside. How can that old woman call that young lady 'STUPID' ?! then the woman sat herself opposit the young lady and went on to mutter "No brains.... dumb.." She said it as if they were meant to be heard....

YL : "How can you anyhow call people 'STUPID' and 'Dumb'?! You're not my parent and you have no right to do so! This is not your house as well! you cant just go round demanding for the New Paper!"
OW : "This is also not your house! STUPID! So i can do whatever i want!"
Me : "Auntie, you're at fault and you shouldnt be saying things like 'I can do whatever i want here'. There's a small pool of water there (pointing to the mini waterfall) why dont you go there and shower, since you think you can do whatever you wnat around here? and after you're done, sit down and then demand a cup of coffee from the librarian lah! you're too rude!"

at this point of time, i wanted to go out, get another copy of the New Paper and smack that old woman in the face! she was so fucking rude. The young lady then threw the New Paper onto the floor just next to the old woman (i thought she shouldnt have done that) then the old foggie picked it up and threw it at the young lady's face then she promptly walked off... that left the young lady angry and she teared...

Singaporeans sometimes disgust me.... by the way, the young lady's a malaysian (can tell from her accent and dressing :P) singaporeans are fucking kiasu...they wait to rush...and rush to wait! and i feel Singaporeans are selfish...
